2000GT MINI, ‘RIO’

Colorful fisheye stills of the Hand-Engineering 2000 Mini SE. Practicing with multiple colored lights, using techniques similar to jewelry/high-end fashion product visualization. One of my favorite projects to date, it was a blast spending hours experimenting with lighting and placing color vs. white highlights exactly where I wanted them. Additionally, I got to use a fisheye camera setup, which is my current favorite technique and is gaining popularity in photography and 3D spaces right now.

Poltergeist, Cyber deck

Visualization for the upcoming group-buy of the Poltergeist 40 by Spectrefive.co. The client wanted a very specific aesthetic, cyber minimalism with heavy emphasis on pill motifs. I created a clean, high-contrast look with reflections to elevate the product's high-tech aesthetic. The keycaps paired with the board are the original draft for what eventually became Wired. In ‘Abstract Minimal.’

Nectar X

I gave myself two restrictions for this project. First, I must use warm light. Secondly, it must be based on the interaction of shadow, not light. These challenges lead to this piece looking so beautiful; I love how the warmth of the light plays with and absorbs into the polycarbonate components on the Gentlemen 65. I am proud of how, in some images, the edges are crisply outlined by light, yet in others, it fizzles into the deep black background. Overall, this is one of my favorite lighting explorations and projects I have done so far.

Motif, fisheye

Visuals for the upcoming release of the Motif65 and Motif keycaps by Akukolabs and Bowlkeyboards. These visuals were inspired by skateboarding culture in the 90s-2000s, which featured digicams with ultrawide fisheye lens attachments and visible circular framing. The goal of this project was ultra-realism. How could I make this product, which wasn't in production yet, look like someone had taken a photo of it on a table in front of them?

Vøid65, mauve

Visualization for the upcoming Vøid65 by Anorexus.Design. The focus of this project was to achieve complete textural and material realism to showcase the different metal finishes of the accessories that come with the board (rear weight, etc). Fingerprints and scratches were added to chrome/mirror finishes, matte metals were scanned from real-life counterparts, and if you look closely, even lubricant/oil stains were added to the uncovered PCB in the second image.

Sonoma, Vampire

Social media teaser renders for the new Wired. In x RadKBDs Sonoma 60%. I am so honored to have been able to watch this project grow from its beginning stages to a finished product. As this board grew and matured from the original design to now, my skills have as well. I remember doing the first unofficial renders for this project more than two(+) years ago, and looking back on the old design and not fully realized lighting, to now with the finished design and significantly more polished visualization; it is a great feeling.

Nemui, colorful motion

A collection of motion shots for Osume x Bachoo’s newest board release, the long-awaited Nemui. They wanted a cinematic but colorful design language for this project, blending inspirations like the Apple AirPods Pro reveal with the cotton-candy colors of my render artist past. You can find the Instagram reel featuring this work on Osume’s or Bachoo’s page, with 100,000 views.

gmk Tribal, all yellow

On the left is Oh.Type’s new set GMK Tribal mounted on DnWorks concept board based on the Lexus LFA. Featuring MVKB’s just-developed Neue legends, Tribal is entering into group-buy Q3 of 2024. It took many hours to get the desert aesthetic to look just right, but I’m happy with how it turned out. To the right is a facedown Nazaré Engineering 1-60, which I detailed 1-1, using the version I own. Sporting the same yellow on the cable as GMK Tribal, the two unrelated collaborations look amazing side-by-side.

Modernist visualization

These renders may all seem unrelated; however, over the course of three years, I have been experimenting with minimalist modern visualization techniques. These renders are arranged from oldest to most recent, and if you look closely, you can see that each background plays with light differently while still retaining the spotlight effect. Additionally, I wanted these to be colorful and saturated, even the middle bottom project with a grey theme, which was a challenge.

Fanta C, Lighting

In this personal research and development endeavor, I aimed to explore the dramatic nature of the contrast between shadow and light. Using a metallic bright orange material, I was able to play with spots of intense light compared to areas of deep shadow, where the form of the board gets lost. This helped me better understand how to keep the form of an object even when it’s not lit up.

Bias, grey-scale

This was a personal research project with the goal of perfecting keycap and bead-blasted aluminum materials. Slight imperfections are added to our new procedural ABS V2 Texture, based on real keycap sets and true to life; this will be used in all renders from this point on—experiments done on a model of the Bias by Baionlenja.

Werk-one, California

This free-style render features the Moloko colorway of the Werk One by Werk.Technica. By desaturating the surrounding walls to warm hues and strategically placing a California desert palm, I aimed to draw attention to the board’s stunning brass bottom and badge.

D3_c0d3d

A personal undertaking with the goal of modifying a Rama M65-B to have QR code badges embedded in its case. I mocked up everything with exact measurements and planned for a green anodized band starting at the 65% blocker over the bare metal body. Hopefully one day this project will come to fruition
